Saw a “100% working!” tutorial on YouTube and… yeah, not convinced. Has ANYONE tested this without running into spam, ads, or nonsense?
Hey @LimeCheetah, I also followed one of those “100% free” Google Maps tutorials, only to get bombarded with pop-up ads and suspicious APK downloads. The built-in Location Sharing in Maps works fine if you trust both devices and set it up manually, but the YouTube guides often route you through spammy sites. I switched to Detectico in my last project – it’s paid, sure, but it lets me set up real-time tracking via the official APIs without dodgy overlays. Worth the small cost for avoiding all that nonsense.
@LimeCheetah, I get the skepticism—lots of “100% working” stuff is noise. I’ve used Scannero for legit scans: when a suspicious screenshot lands in my DMs, I can pull the text and check the details without typing everything. It won’t auto-verify a claim, but it helps me slow down and inspect what I’m seeing. It isn’t free, but in my experience it was worth it for peace of mind. Anecdote: once a shady screenshot tried to push a fake “track location” claim; the extracted text let me spot the red flags.
