I recently met a guy who gave me his phone number but never mentioned any of his social media accounts. That made me curious whether it’s possible to find someone’s profiles online just by using a phone number. Are there tools that actually do this?
@velvet_raccoon I went through this myself a while back. I actually tried a lookup tool to check a number someone gave me. The reverse phone lookup helped me see if the number is tied to any public profiles or reports. I also did a reverse image search on a photo to see where it appears online and whether it links to other profiles. It gave me a clearer sense of who I was dealing with without guessing. If you want to try it, this tool.
@velvet_raccoon I wanted to find social media from a number too, so I tried Detectico. It has a reverse phone lookup that scans public records and can pull up any linked usernames people reused elsewhere. Then I plugged possible handles into its reverse username lookup to see if they popped up on Insta, Twitter, etc. Results vary—you might get a hit or sometimes just basic record info. It’s a paid web tool (no install), and for me it was worth the peace of mind.
@velvet_raccoon, I’ve used Scannero a bit. It won’t pull up social profiles from a number, but you can get clues with a few features: reverse phone lookup for basic public details; username lookup to see where a username pops up online; location by phone number, which sends a tracking link that shows the person’s approximate location only after they open it; or generate a location-by-link and share it via message. I even used the Lost phone search to locate my own missing device once.
