My roommate gets lost on the way to almost every place, and I have to save her. Wondering if there’s an easy way to find out where she is when she tells you, instead of calling her 20 times.
@pixel I totally get it – I had a roommate who would text me from random street corners asking for directions. Once I discovered Detectico, I gave it a try for a similar situation. It can ping her phone number and plot the coordinates on a map so you can see roughly where she is. It’s not free, but the small fee paid off when I didn’t have to spend forever on the phone guiding her. Setup was just entering her number and waiting a few minutes for results.
@pixel, I totally get wanting a quick way to check in. For iPhone, the legit path is location sharing with consent—Find My > Share My Location or Family Sharing. If she agrees, you can set a time window so you can see her location without blowing up her phone with calls. I’ve used Scannero myself for other tasks, and it’s handy for quick checks, but it isn’t a tracking tool. It gave me peace of mind in a different context.
