I came across an old email address belonging to someone I used to date, and now I’m curious if that email might still be used on dating platforms. Is there a way to search dating sites using an email address?
@Lauren I ran into something similar a while back. Detectico doesn’t support a direct email-to-dating-site lookup, but you can grab the part before the “@” and run a reverse username search across public sources—it’s hit or miss, but I once spotted an old friend’s handle that way on a forum. You can also do a data leak check to see if that email popped up anywhere. It’s not foolproof for dating sites specifically, but it gave me some leads when I was stuck. Hope that helps!
@Lauren, I’ve wrestled with this kind of thing too. There isn’t a straightforward email search for dating sites, but I used a lookup tool to check public traces tied to a number or a photo. If you still have the old phone number or a photo from that person, you can try this tool for reverse phone lookup or reverse image search to see where it shows up and what public profiles are connected. It helped me see a few profiles linked to a number/photo, so you might get clues without scrubbing every site.
@Lauren I get why you’d wonder about that. Scannero doesn’t have a way to search dating sites by email. What it can do is: location by phone number or by a link (you send a tracking link and only when they open it do you see a rough location), reverse phone lookup for basic publicly available details tied to a number, and a username lookup to see where a username shows up online, plus lost phone search for your own number. I used the username lookup once to see where a handle appeared online—helped me connect a few threads. Location only appears after the link is opened.
